Ballin!!!!!!!!!!

the jints are unfukwitable in the nfc east!! Ballin!!!!!!!

– Rutgers is an undefeated college football team! 7 wins, ZERO losses! They’ ranked #16 in the AP poll! Even ESPN is jumping on the bandwagon, as proven by the picture above! RRRRRRRR UUUUUUUUU!!!!!!

– Good luck to the NY Giants tomorrow in their Monday Night game at Dallas.

– I noticed that I wink a lot these days. to girls and guys. i hope i’m not sending the wrong impression to anyone.

– I suck at fantasy football.

– I’ve been listening to that She Wants Revenge song a lot lately. Kinda poseurish, but the song is addicting even though it sounds contrived. Other things i’ve been listening to a lot lately: Springsteen’s “Born to Run” LP, Julieta Venegas songs, Calle 13, Nas “Nas is Like”, any song by Mana, The Long Blondes “You Could Have Both”, and the Lupe Fiasco album.

– Old women perfume smells like Ban roll-on deoderant. Do they know they smell this bad?

– Strawberry shakes are the best flavor of shakes. And they give me a huge sugar rush.

Poor Dennis Green

what a heartbreakiing loss last night against da bears. i changed the channel when the cards were up 23-3 with most of the 3rd quarter gone by. I flip it back to the game only to find out the bears are up by ONE point and Arizona about to kick a game-winning field goal, which they would inevitably miss. This Dennis Green outburst is one for the ages.

There was some bad coaching aside. but i do feel sorry for Green. He can’t be blamed for 2 defensive TDs abd one TD return by the bears. Meh, such is life.

Julieta Venegas pt. 2

“lento” is the song that introduced me to j. venegas. i had only heard her name before this, not the music. instantly i was attracted to her sweet pop tunes. it had a quasi-indie feel to it too, which made me like it even more.

but obviouly the reason i kept listening to the song is because of the video. a cute girl walking aroung the streets of tokyo in a skirt and white heels gets instant replay status from me. and she has a twin sister? and holy shit, she’s 35 years of age? wow!

i have a celebrity crush. Her name is Julieta Venegas and i totally dig her. She’s been around for a while now, but i just got hip to her maybe a year ago. It’s partly her pop sensibilities that attracted me to her, but mostly it’s her look. Totally beautiful, not in the modern supermodel/actress/people magazine/playboy magazine kind of way. I couldn’t really give a definitive reason and/or point of reference why i think she’s so hot until i saw her video for “limon y sal”; her eyes remind me of silent film actresses like Clara Bow. She can express any sort of demeanor without having to overact, her eyes kind of do all the talking. She’s so pretty, i think i want to be her male-groupie.

– i’ve come across a pretty interesting blog entitled www.junkfoodblog.com in which they just talk about new junk food. pretty simple, yet highly informative. i learned that there is a new breakfast snack food that involves the goodness of pancakes sprinkled with chocolate chips covering a piece of sausage. it makes me think, ” would i have eaten this if i wasnt a vegetarian?” thank Allah i don’t eat meat.

– i’m involved in a fantasy football league. in four weeks, i’ve lost four games. i have to step my game up.

-me and my brother oswaldito recently visited a bar/lounge that plays eighties music called the loop lounge. not only eighties music but other like-minded artists like bloc party, the knife, rachel stevens, lily allen, etc. great place to hang out on a saturday night.

– i will be volunteering at the CMJ music fest. hopefully i will get a chance to get into a few shows. here’s a link to the uninitiated: http://prod1.cmj.com/marathon/ i will keep you informed if anything important regarding this week long event develops. Posted by Picasa

just something random that came to my mind while watching this show. i really dig the hell out of this cartoon. Maya and Miguel is a cartoon on PBS that revolves around the titular twin brother and sister and all thje hijinx/adventures around their neighborhood. nothing out of the ordinary. aimed for children under 11 years of age, i would believe. they keep the dialogue going with some Spanglish thrown i for good measure.

it makes me think that it must be specially cool for a Latin kid to be growing up in the U.S. right now. not that lack of positive Latino representations in the media would hinder any sort of self identification in the maturation process of a kid, but it is cool to see more characters that are not picked from the ever-abundant list of stereotypical choices. the show is well written and highly entertaining. the other day i caught an episode where the siblings emulate Don Quijote in order to save Miguel’s favorite ice cream flavor from extinction. sounds cool, huh?!

all this brought me to thinking about stuff i watched as a kid. There was this show called Ghostwriter, and the Spanish kid was named Alex. Everyone in my class said I looked just like him, but i didn’t see the resemblance.

PBS shows are kool, and they’re made for viewers like us! Posted by Picasa
